2020 keeps throwing up surprises

It’s been said thousands of times but we truly are living in an unprecedented time. Once again plans have had to change and the Irrational South 200 Mile Run has officially been cancelled for 2020. However, the 200 Miles For Travis team is pushing ahead and is going to maintain our schedule of running the Lavender Federation Trail commencing on October 7th, 2020. Hopefully finishing on or around October 10th.

With so many restrictions on travel between Australian states and from overseas Shaun Kaesler, the Race Director of Irrational South, had to make the tough decision to not hold the inaugural event as planned and postpone wholly to 2021. With less than 10 of the entrants being locals from South Australia it just wasn’t going to be the event that it deserves to be. However, it looks like 5 or 6 hardy souls (myself included) will be out there in early October with their own support crews to take on the 200 Mile challenge.

With all that has happened this year with the bushfires, COVID19, job losses, lockdowns, travel restrictions and so many other stresses, now more than ever so many people need support. Services such as AnglicareSA and Beyond Blue are experiencing higher than usual requests for assistance whilst at the same time seeing their regular donations diminish. Please, if you can at all afford to, donate to help others in this time of need.
